August 9th, 2007 Me

Tehachapi Mountain Park is nestled in the Tehachapi Moutains just 8 miles outside of Tehachapi. Set between Bakersfield and the Mojave Desert, the mountains are the dividing line between the San Jouaquin Valley and the Los Angeles Basin. The park contains 61 family campsites and two group reservation areas, one with 10 cabins. These campsites have great locations, some offer privacy and others are large open areas for bigger groups. The park has flush toilets and showers available for campers. A corral is also available for campers with horses.

The elevation of Tehachapi Mountain Park ranges from 5,500 - 7,000 feet and you’ll be able to enjoy the Four Seasons weather. Hiking and equestrian trails are available throughout the park. Although Tehachapi Mountain Park is open year round, snow in the winter may cause road closures.

The city of Tehachapi offers two grocery stores, gas stations and other ammenities in close distance to Tehachapi Mountain Park.

Driving Directions
From Hwy 58 traveling East take the first Tehachapi exit, Tehachapi Blvd, and turn right. Continue on this road, traveling through 2 traffic lights. Turn right at Highline Rd. Turn left on Water Canyon Road. The road up to Tehachapi Mountain Park isn’t wide so obey speed limits. If you’re traveling West, Tehachapi Blvd. will be the last Tehachapi exit.
