To create a post you must first be a registered user of Tehachapi Daily and be logged in. After you login, you will be on the dashboard of the admin panel. Choose the “Write” tag in the main navigation bar near the top left corner of the page or click on the ‘write a post’ link under the ‘links to get started’ headline. It’s super simple. Then you give your post a title add your content, choose an appropriate category, then click publish.
If you just registered and this is your first time publishing a new post to the website… you’re post will be held for moderation until we can approve and publish it. This will only happen the first couple of times to publish content, at which point we will lift moderation and you can freely post anything you want. However… we keep close tabs on the content being published. If your content violates our Rules & Regulations we will delete it and reset your moderation status.
Yes, you can post something for sale / rent as long is it can legally be for sale. Once your item has sold or been rented please edit your post to read ’sold’, ‘rented’ or delete the entry. Make sure your post is posted in the appropriate ‘for sale’ or ‘for rent’ category. Do not post in multiple categories when posting items for sale or rent.
Commercial posts are also allowed. Please select appropriate categories and limit the number of categories you use. If a category seems inappropriate, your post may be deleted from that category but will remain in appropriate categories.
This website is what you would call Open Source. That means it’s open to everyone to post useful information about Tehachapi. However there are rules. By default, as soon as you register you can post anything you want… as long as the content you post adheres to our rules. Also by default… all content will be held for moderation until approved or rejected by a site administrator. This will happen until you have 10 approved posts… at which point you can submit a request to be have your user status upgraded and moderation to be removed.

If You Break The Rules
Once your moderation status has been lifted and you break a rule, your status will be demoted, the content deleted and you will again have to deal with moderation for 30 days. After your 30 day probation you can request to be upgraded again. Break the rules again and your account will be deleted and your ip address banned. PERIOD!
The bottom line is it’s my website… I own the domain and pay for the hosting and I will sensor what ever I feel I need to. I don’t want to come off as being harsh or abrasive but I have set a standard.

If you would like a category added to post your content to, you can post it to the Uncategorized category temporarily and send us an email requesting to have a category added. If we feel it is appropriate to add said category we will and we’ll update your post accordingly.
This site is setup to run both YouTube and Google videos, as long as they adhere to the rules and regulations.To post a video…
1. You must first upload it to YouTube or Google.
2. Once you’ve upload it, you must obtain the full URL of the video clip.
3. Login and click write > post.
4. From the text editor look to the far right end of the editing buttons… you’ll see a YouTube & Google button… click it.
5. Enter / paste the complete URL of the video that you uploaded to YouTube or Google.
6. Ad whatever text you want and click publish.

The wordpress system will automatically tag your post with the category you are putting it in. If there are any other keywords that help classify your post, this is the place to put them. Seperate words with commas (,) and don’t use any periods (.). For example, a post titled ‘Tehachapi Wine Festival: October 18, 2007′ would be categorized in Upcoming Events and might have the tags: tehachapi, vineyard.
Registered users have two options for post status: Published & Draft. If you click the ‘publish’ button underneath the content box your post will be published and there is no need to check ‘Published’ in the Post Status field. If you are going to save your post and come back to it at a later time tan you can choose the ‘Draft’ option in the Post Status field then click the ’save and continue editing’ button under the content box.
Please note that if this is your first time posting content to Where’s Tehachapi, your post will be held for moderation up to 24hrs after you click Publish. After your first few posts have been approved moderation status will be lifted.
