La Leche League (LLL) is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing information, support, encouragement and education to women who want to breastfeed. LLL of Tehachapi meets on the 4th Monday of each month at 10 am in the Scout Hut at City Park. Meetings are free and are led by women who have happily and successfully breastfed their own children and have subsequently been accredited by La Leche League International.

Mothers who attend LLL meetings soon find there is more involved than basic breastfeeding information. They enjoy sharing stories, friendship and the mother-to-mother support. Babies and siblings are always welcome at meetings!

All women who have an interest in breastfeeding are invited to attend La Leche League meetings and to call our leaders for breastfeeding help and support.

We also meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at Mama Hillybeans (426 E. Tehachapi Blvd.) for our “Mama Cafe” a casual, drop-in gathering. A Mama Cafe is a safe, welcoming space for mothers to come and share their experiences and to support one another. An Accredited LLL Leader will be present to answer questions and to provide information. Babies and children are welcome to attend with their mothers. This casual, free get-together is a great way to meet like minded friends.

There is an informal play group of moms and kids who meets every Wednesday around 10a.m. Where they meet depends on the time of year. During the summer they usually meet at Tehachapi’s Central Park off “E” Street, except for days with planned field trips.

During the winter months the play group is meeting at the homes of various playgroup members.
